No. 10 Nighthawks Earn Third Seed In 2024 NCAA Southeast Regional Tournament
INDIANAPOLIS – The University of North Georgia men's tennis team has earned the third seed in the 2024 NCAA Men's Tennis Southeast Regional Tournament. The Nighthawks will travel to Columbus, Ga. where host and second-seeded Columbus State will welcome three teams for the Southeast Region #2 Tournament on May 13-14.
As the third-seeded program in the region, UNG will face sixth-seeded Augusta in the first round. The Nighthawks have already faced Augusta once this season, taking down the Jaguars 5-2 back at home on Mar. 16.
The selection marks the fourth straight season and 10th overall that head coach Kent Norsworthy's program has been entered into the NCAA postseason.
Five Peach Belt Conference teams earned a bid in the Southeast Regional this year. UNG will look to advance past the NCAA Round of 32 for the first time in three seasons with a pair of wins in the Regional. Should the Nighthawks take down Augusta, they will face the winner of second-seeded Columbus State and seventh-seeded Belmont Abbey.
The Nighthawks' first match in the tournament takes place Monday, May 13 at 1 p.m. against the Jaguars.
