MakerBot Innovation Center helps faculty and future entrepreneurs

Dr. Jessica Hartel needed some primate skulls for a special-topics biology class, but the University of North Georgia's biology department did not have a collection. Thanks to the MakerBot Innovation Lab and its 3D printers and Dr. Jon Mehlferber, several primate skull specimens were printed for Hartel in a short time frame--saving hundreds of dollars. And Dr. Mehlferber, professor of visual arts at UNG, knows the 3D printers will have many more uses to the students, faculty and staff as well as community members.
