Nighthawk Ticketing And Coverage Options For Men's Basketball Elite Eight in Evansville

DAHLONEGA – The fifth-seeded University of North Georgia men's basketball team departs for the 2024 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championships in Evansville, Ind. this week. The Nighthawks will face fourth-seeded West Texas A&M University on Tuesday, Mar. 26 at 9:30 p.m. Head coach Dan Evans has led his team to the best season in program history with a record 28 wins thus far, a Peach Belt Conference Tournament Championship and an NCAA Southeast Regional Championship. Tuesday's matchup will serve as UNG's first ever men's basketball appearance in the Elite Eight.

On the largest stage of NCAA Division II men's basketball, there will be numerous coverage options for Nighthawk fans to catch all the action from Evansville.

University President Michael Shannon has invited fans to Hawk Walk; a celebration to send the team off to Evansville with a large show of support. Fans will gather at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 23, at the east end of Gen. William "Lipp" Livsey Drill Field to cheer on players and coaches as they board the team bus.

Tickets are available for purchase through the NCAA via Ticketmaster by clicking here. All tickets are general admission seating for the Ford Center, a multipurpose arena in downtown Evansville that seats 10,000 fans. 

President Shannon has also organized another Hawk Walk that will take place in Evansville. On Tuesday, Mar. 26 at 6 p.m. CST, fans are invited to gather at Stone City Grill inside the Doubletree Evansville hotel lobby to send the team off to the arena. Any Nighthawk fans that are unable to watch the game in Evansville are invited to attend the Elite Eight Watch Party hosted by the UNG Student Involvement, Dining Services and Residence Life located in the Chow Dining Hall on Tuesday, Mar. 26 at 9 p.m. There will be free t-shirts for the first 300 students along with games, food, music and, of course, Nighthawk basketball.

The semifinals and National Championship games will be broadcast nationally with CBS. The semifinal games taking place on Thursday, Mar. 28 will air on CBS Sports Network, while the National Championship on Saturday, Mar. 30 will be broadcast live on CBS.
