BREAKING: Weekend Outdoor Schedules Altered in Advance of Approaching Weather
DAHLONEGA – Projected wet weather for the weekend in the northeast Georgia region has forced the University of North Georgia to make date modifications to a busy weekend schedule for the Nighthawks' outdoor sports. Please keep checking game schedules on UNGAthletics.com and all Nighthawk social media channels for up-to-the-minute updates regarding scheduled events, live coverage and to purchase tickets.
The UNG baseball team's non-conference series with Salem has been adjusted to a doubleheader on Friday (Feb. 9) beginning at 1:00 p.m. and a single game tentatively scheduled for Saturday (Feb. 10) at 12:00 p.m.
The weekend series will continue to honor 25 Years of North Georgia baseball and all baseball alumni.
The tennis teams' Saturday (Feb. 10) matches with Newberry has been pushed back to Tuesday (Feb. 13) at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek Park. The men's home match against Emory on Sunday (Feb. 11) has been postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date.
The softball team's 2024 home opener as part of the Captain D's Surf & Turf Classic remains as scheduled for Friday (Feb. 9) at 12:00 p.m. against Catawba. The complete schedule for the eight-game event featuring four teams can be found here.
Sunday's two games originally scheduled as part of the tournament have been canceled with the revised schedule having four games on Friday and four games on Saturday.
Additionally, the 12th Annual North Georgia High School Soccer Showcase that is taking place at the UNG Soccer Field at Lynn Cottrell Park will continue as scheduled and will conclude on Saturday.
