Nearly 70 Nighthawks Honored With D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award
DAHLONEGA – The University of North Georgia had 68 student-athletes receive the 2023-24 Division 2 Athletics Directors Association Academic Achievement Award, as announced by the D2 ADA on Saturday.
Among the seven Peach Belt Conference schools to have at least one student-athlete win the award this year, UNG's 68 total honorees was third only to Georgia College and Flagler.
In order for a student-athlete to receive an Academic Achievement Award, the athletics director
Must be a current dues paying member of the D2 ADA. The student-athlete also must, (1) have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, (2) have completed a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college level work at a two-year and/or four-year institution and (3) have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year.
