No. 24 Nighthawks Drop First Match In 2nd Annual Scenic City Showcase
Box Score CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The No. 24 University of North Georgia (UNG) men's tennis team lost its second match of the season in a 4-0 defeat to Lee in its first match of the 2nd Annual Scenic City College Tennis Spring Break Showcase on Saturday.
The Nighthawks (5-2, 1-0 Peach Belt) fell behind early to the Flames (6-0, 3-0 Gulf South) after losing the doubles point as Lee took wins in the #2 and #3 doubles matches.
Lee quickly took home the victory with wins in the #3, #4 and #5 singles matches.
The Nighthawks will look to rebound in the premier collegiate tennis tournament tomorrow, Sunday, March 9 against No. 29 Catawba in the team's first ranked showdown of the season.
UNG begins its match against the Indians at 10 a.m. from the Champions Club Tennis Complex at Rivermont Park.
