No. 10 Nighthawks Set To Host 2025 PBC Tournament
DAHLONEGA – The No. 10 University of North Georgia (UNG) softball team is set to host the 2025 Peach Belt Conference Tournament for the 11th consecutive season this upcoming weekend at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park.
The Nighthawks won their 11th straight PBC Regular-season title this season after going 40-11 overall with a 19-5 mark in conference play.
This year's tournament will differ from past instances in Dahlonega as the conference decided to make the 2025 installment a single-elimination event. Instead of the quarterfinals being held at the sites of the top two seeds, UNG will now host all eight teams in the tournament. It will take three victories for the winning team to hoist a championship trophy.
Tournament play begins on Friday, May 2 and ends Sunday, May 4.
The top-seeded Nighthawks open play in the event at 4:30 p.m. on Friday against eighth-seeded USC Beaufort. The Sand Sharks took the regular-season series against UNG in the final weekend of the regular season.
Tickets are available for purchase on the conference website. All tickets must be purchased online, cash will not be accepted at the door. All games in the event will be broadcast on the PBC Sports Network for a pay per view price of $10.
The Nighthawks are in search of their 10th PBC Tournament title in the last 11 seasons.
