Martin Named PBC Player of the Week
DAHLONEGA -- No. 6 University of North Georgia (UNG) women's basketball graduate forward Caroline Martin has been named as the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Martin had yet another big game as she led UNG to an 80-75 win on the road at Georgia College on Wednesday.
Martin posted team highs with 20 points and seven rebounds while going 8-for-16 from the floor and 2-for-5 from three-point land. The game goes down as Martin's seventh 20-point performance this season.
The win also keeps the Nighthawks atop the league with a 3-0 mark in PBC play and a 13-0 record overall. With a win over Columbus State on Monday, the Nighthawks can tie the program record for the best start in UNG women's basketball history.
Monday marks Martin's second weekly honor from the conference this season and the fourth of her career. Ths is the third time this season UNG has earned a conference player of the week thus far.
Martin and the Nighthawks are back in action at Lynn Cottrell Arena today, Monday, Jan. 13, at 5:30 p.m. in a showdown against Columbus State.
