LIVE: UNG Athletics Kicks Off 3rd Annual Day of Giving
DAHLONEGA - University of North Georgia Athletics has launched its third annual Athletics Day of Giving, a 24-hour fundraising event that calls on alumni, parents and fans of North Georgia Athletics to invest in the resources needed to cement our quest to building the most competitive, value-added NCAA Division II athletic program in the nation. The initiative will continue throughout the day on Tuesday, Dec. 3 and can support athletic scholarships, support units (Sports Performance, Sports Medicine, Strategic Initiatives, etc.) or one of our 13 intercollegiate sports.
We are calling all fans of North Georgia athletics to come together over the next 24 hours (Dec. 3) and make a gift to one of our 13 sports teams, units or the general scholarship fund. Supporters can make a donation here and track the progress on our scoreboard here.
Thanks to generous donors that support the mission of the initiative, there will be three incentives and benchmarks during the day:
• A challenge bonus of $500 will be added to the totals when we reach 500 total donors.
• During the lunch hour (12:00 to 1:00 p.m.) all donations up to $1,000 will be matched.
• Throughout the day, anyone that posts to Instagram or X (Twitter) celebrating their donation using #UNGDayOfGiving and tagging @UNG_Nighthawks will have $24 added to the totals.
All funds raised will go directly to the program of your choice and will help enhance the student-athlete experience through providing support for scholarships, facilities, equipment, travel expenses and so much more.
Leveraging the assistance of an anonymous matching donors, additional funds will be unlocked and added to the totals when certain benchmarks are reached with an end goal of surpassing last year's total funds raised of over $116,000.
