Trushel Named to PBC All-Conference First Team

DAHLONEGA – University of North Georgia women's basketball junior forward Emily Trushel has been named to the Peach Belt Conference All-Conference First Team the league announced Wednesday.

DAHLONEGA – University of North Georgia women's basketball junior forward Emily Trushel has been named to the Peach Belt Conference All-Conference First Team the league announced Wednesday. 

This is the second all-conference postseason honor for the Brentwood, Tenn. native who transferred to UNG after spending three seasons at USC Aiken to begin her college career. 

This season Trushel racked up multiple conference accolades having been named to the PBC Preseason All-Conference Team and twice been named the PBC Player of the Week.

Trushel currently leads the Nighthawks in scoring (15.2 points), rebounding (6.9 rebounds), steals (36), three-point percentage (33%) and free throw percentage (84%) this season. She's had 21 double digit scoring performances this year and 10 of them have been with 20 or more points. She dropped a career-high 27 points at Young Harris back on Nov. 11, 2023. 

With a pair of double-doubles this season, Trushel has now posted five double-double performances in her career. 

Shooting 48% from the floor this year, Trushel ranks second in the PBC. She also ranks second in minutes per game (32.5), fifth in points per game and second in defensive rebounds per game (5.2).

Trushel will look to lead the Nighthawks to their seventh consecutive PBC Tournament semifinal appearance tomorrow, Thursday, Mar. 7 when fifth-seeded UNG takes on fourth-seeded Lander in the PBC Tournament quarterfinals. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m in Americus, Ga.
