AUGUSTA, Ga. — On the eve of the Peach Belt Conference championship race, the league has released its 2023 season award winners. Claire Mills and Ella Stoudenmire highlight the list for the University of North Georgia women's cross country team, each taking a major award.

Mills has been named the PBC Women's Runner of the Year, finishing first for the Nighthawks in each race and earning top-10 finishes in the first three of four races, finishing in 51st among 279 runners in the fourth, against a majority of runners from NCAA Division I programs. Stoudenmire earns the Elite 18 award, adding another significant academic achievement after wrapping up last season, earning a PBC Team of Academic Distinction selection, PBC Presidential Honor Roll Gold Scholar selection and a D2ADA Academic Achievement Award.

Mills and Stoudenmire will run alongside the rest of the Nighthawks in the PBC Championship race on Saturday (Oct. 21) at 10:00 a.m. at the UNG Cross Country Course in Gainesville, Ga.
