FARMINGTON, Pa. – The No. 20 University of North Georgia (UNG) women's golf team concluded the first day of play at the Intercollegiate at Nemacolin in fourth place Monday evening. No. 2 and host Findlay leads the tournament at two-over, followed by No. 17 Grand Valley State at 14-over and Tiffin at 23-over.

Play was halted due to darkness prior to the completion of round two. Most players in the nine-team, 48-player field had anywhere from four to five holes remaining in their second round at the 6,092-yard Nemacolin Woodlands Resort.

Round two will resume Tuesday morning prior to play in the final round three.

After roughly 30 holes of golf, the Nighthawks posted a combined 25-over-par score to sit themselves in fourth place after day one.

Round two got off to a much better start than round one for head coach Sierra Campbell's team. In round one, all Nighthawks finished over par as the team combined to shoot 311 at 22-over. The individual highlight of the first 18 holes came from senior Ellie Rippee on the par-4 ninth hole.

Rippee drove the ball roughly 240 yards on the 373-yard conclusion of the front nine. The quality drive placed a nine iron in her hands as she made her approach. Rippee would not need another club on the hole as she drilled her approach shot from approximately 130 yards away for an eagle two.

The eagle was Rippee's second this season and in as many events as she also recorded an eagle at the par-5 15th hole at Achasta Golf Club in the 11th Annual LeeAnn Noble Memorial two weeks ago. Rippee led UNG in round one with a three-over 75. She currently sits in 12th place at six-over in total for the tournament.

In round two, it was junior Cora Mount who headlined the outing before play was halted just after 6 p.m.

Mount, who shot an 83 in round one, birdied three of her first six holes in round two. She stands in 15th place overall at nine-over-par.

Senior Jadin Ware leads the way individually for the Nighthawks in eighth place at the day's completion. She paired a 77 in round one with a pair of birdies through 13 holes in round two to reach five-over.

Sophomore Abby Franks followed Ware in 14th place after a 77 in round one and a two-over mark in round two.

As a team, UNG completed play in round two at two-over-par, twenty shots improved from round one.

All nine teams will complete round two on Tuesday morning before teeing off in round three at 1 p.m.
