DAHLONEGA – The No. 24 University of North Georgia women's golf team is set to host the 2nd Annual Bracket Challenge Monday and Tuesday this week at Chimney Oak Golf Club in Homer, Ga. Six schools will join UNG in the bracket style event this year as the Nighthawks will have two separate teams competing in the event.

Of the eight teams competing in the event this year, four currently sit in the top-25 of Clippd's national computer scoring rankings. As a bracket style event, the eight team's are seeded based on Clippd's rankings and are listed below.

No. 3 – Findlay – #1 seed
No. 15 – Lee – #2 seed
No. 18 – Grand Valley State – #3 seed
No. 24 – North Georgia – #4 seed
No. 45 – West Georgia – #5 seed
No. 75 – Catawba – #6 seed
No. 99 – Columbus State – #7 seed
NR – North Georgia "B"/Individuals – #8 seed

As is standard for an eight-team bracket, the first round seeding matchups are as follows:

#1 (Findlay) vs. #8 (North Georgia "B"/Individuals)
#4 (North Georgia) vs. #5 (West Georgia)
#3 (Grand Valley State) vs. #6 (Catawba)
#2 (Lee) vs. #7 (Columbus State)

The two-day event begins Monday, Apr. 8 as the teams will play the first two rounds of the tournament, finishing with the championship rounds on Tuesday, Apr. 9. The Brackt Challenge is a medal match play event which consists of team matches totaling five points with one point being awarded for each individual match winner.

Medal match means each match is scored by the cumulative number of strokes won by rather than the number of holes won. For example: "Up 3" means that the player is up by three strokes, not three holes. The player up by the most strokes after 18 holes wins the match.

Each individual match will be played to its completion and the first team to win three points within the team match will advance.

If an individual match is tied after its completion, a half-point will be awarded to each team. If a team match is tied after all five individual matches, the cumulative strokes of the five players from each team (no drop score) will be calculated with the winning team being that with the fewest strokes.

The host site of the event, Chimney Oaks Golf Club, serves as a 4,659-yard, par-72 course for the challenge. Monday's morning matches will all tee off on the par-4 first hole.

Last year, in the inaugural challenge, the Nighthawks finished as the runner-up in the elimination event behind Findlay.
