CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The University of North Georgia (UNG) women's track & field team had a pair of records broken on Saturday in the Fast Break Athletics Invitational in Cleveland, Tenn. in the team's fourth meet of the season.

While two Nighthawk athletes finished on the podium and UNG placed in the top-10 in four separate events, senior athlete Ny'Asia Green made headlines as she broke both the program long jump and triple jump records on Saturday.

In the long jump, the Martinez, Ga. native leapt a startling 5.31 meters to break the previous record by 0.18m. Green's performance was good enough for sixth-place in the event to mark her fourth top-10 finish of the season.

Green would go on to earn her fifth top-10 finish and second podium appearance later in the triple jump.

The Clayton State transfer already set the new program record in the triple jump in her debut meet of the season when she landed at 10.63m in the Susan Rouse Invitational. On Saturday she shattered that record with an 11.07m jump that earned her a second-place finish. She came just 0.10m shy of her own personal best in the triple jump.

Green's podium finish was accompanied by fellow senior Anna Chasteen.

The Zebulon, Ga, native came in third place in the women's 3000-meter steeplechase on Saturday. Chasteen blazed around the track for a new personal record time of 11:16.54 as she also landed on the podium for the second time this year.

Senior Sophia Alexander also came in the top 10 Saturday after posting a 1:03.09 pace in the women's 400-meter race. She came just a half-second shy of breaking her own personal record in the event. She did however set a new personal best in the 400-meter hurdles on the weekend. Alexander came in 11th place in the hurdles after running a 1:08.81, beating her previous personal best by 0.3 seconds.

With Green's pair of records today, the Nighthawks have now broken four program records already in the 2025 season.

UNG now has one regular-season meet left ahead of the 2025 Peach Belt Conference Championship. The Nighthawks will head back to Atlanta, Ga. for the Georgia Tech Invitational on April 18-19 before the postseason begins.
