DAHLONEGA – University of North Georgia women's tennis senior Viktorie Wojcikova has been named as the Peach Belt Conference women's tennis Player of the Week this week as announced by the league office Monday. Wojcikova's award comes after she was dominant in a quartet of wins for the Nighthawks last week in which Wojcikova was a trailblazer for UNG. This is the first time in her career she has been chosen for the award.

Over the course of the four matches, she went 8-0 in four doubles and four singles matches.

Four of those eight wins helped the Nighthawks improve to 17-0 and 4-0 against ranked opponents as they took down No. 7 West Alabama and No. 9 Flagler.

Against Flagler, Wojcikova defeated ITA women's singles No. 40 Dana Heiman in comeback fashion 2-6, 7-6 (7-2 tiebreaker), 6-4 for the win in the #2 singles match.

In the doubles against Flagler, she paired up with senior teammate Johanna Lippert to defeat the No. 5 ranked doubles pairing in the nation 6-3 in the #1 doubles contest. Her and Lippert also defeated the No. 37 doubles team from West Alabama 7-5 on Tuesday.

Wojcikova is now 13-2 in singles matches and 14-2 in doubles. She has not lost a match in either competition since Mar. 12.

With her efforts, the senior from the Czech Republic has lifted UNG to what has already been one of the best seasons in program history. With 17 straight wins to start the year, the group has already set the record for most consecutive wins in program history. They need three more wins to reach 20 on the season which would mark the third such time that number has been reached in program history. It would also be the first 20-win season since 2019.

Now the Nighthawks get ready to move one step closer with a non-conference match against Hawaii Pacific. That contest will start on Friday, Apr. 12 at 2 p.m.
