DAHLONEGA – Lynn Cottrell Park is going to be the most important site of the Peach Belt Conference baseball and softball action this weekend. Beginning on Friday, Apr. 26 both the University of North Georgia baseball and softball teams host PBC foes for some big time matchups.

The PBC Softball Tournament begins this weekend at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium. While the Nighthawks await a final matchup between Georgia College and USC Beaufort to determine who they will play in the first round, as regular season champions they have already secured the top seed and hosting rights for the tournament. 

The tournament begins Friday, Apr. 26 with the quarterfinal games. After the quarter and semi final rounds are over, the remaining teams will return to Dahlonega on May 3 and 4 for the PBC Tournament Championship. 

At Bob Stein Stadium, the Nighthawk baseball program welcomes GCSU for a three-game series that will determine who finishes in second place in the conference. The second place participant will get to host half of the first round of the PBC Tournament the following weekend. UNG and the Bobcats are currently tied for second place behind Lander with a 16-8 conference record this season.
