No. 3 UNG In Fifth Place After 36 Holes At PBC Championship
AUGUSTA, Ga. – The No. 3 University of North Georgia (UNG) men's golf team sits in fifth place after 36 holes at the 2025 Peach Belt Conference Championship in Augusta, Ga. at Forest Hills Golf Club.
The Nighthawks posted a 1-under team score of 291 on Saturday to land in fifth place.
No. 15 USC Beaufort leads the field with a 10-shot lead at 15-under par. No. 11 USC Aiken sits in second place at 5-under with No. 5 Georgia Southwestern just behind at 1-under. Two shots ahead of UNG and in fourth place overall is Flagler at even par.
Graduate student Jack Vajda headlined the day with a 5-under par 67 in his second round. It was the lowest second round of the entire field. Vajda went bogey-free with five birdies on the back nine to card his second-lowest round of the year.
Vajda climbed into a tie for eighth place on the individual leaderboard with his second round. He currently stands as the only Nighthawk in the top 10 on the individual leaderboard.
Sophomore Colby Bennett was the only other UNG golfer to shoot an even par or better round on Saturday. He utilized three birdies to shoot an even 72 in the second round. Bennett sits in a tie for 23rd going into the final day of the tournament.
The Nighthawks will tee off at 8:30 a.m. in the first pairing of the day with the last group going out at 9:18 a.m.
