DAHLONEGA -- The University of North Georgia softball team had 14 student athletes named as 2024 Easton/NFCA DII All-America Scholar Athletes as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Tuesday afternoon.

Seniors Tybee Denton, Kristen Davis, Delaney Heaberlin, Gracie Mixson, Aniston Wright and Mariah Wicker were all honored with the academic award as junior Jolie Lester followed suit. Sophomores Sydney Blair, Marycille Brumby, Madison Cosgrove, Katie Ward and Natalie Ray added to the selections while freshmen Tagen Levao-Maisonet and Journey Roberts rounded out the honors.

This year's honor marks a repeat accomplishment for Denton, Lester, Wright and Mixson who is the only player of the quartet to win the award twice.

The 14 selections this season for UNG mark the most since the 2021-22 season when the Nighthawks had three players (aforementioned Lester, Wright and Mixson) earn the distinction. It also adds to a grand total of 26 NFCA Scholar Athletes for UNG since 2011. 14 selections is also tied for the most among Peach Belt Conference schools, matching the total from USC Beaufort this season. UNG and USCB are two of just four PBC schools to have a student-athlete named to the list, joining Augusta and Georgia Southwestern.
