DAHLONEGA – University of North Georgia softball senior pitcher Tybee Denton was named to the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Associations (D2CCA) 2024 All-America Second Team, as announced by the D2CCA Thursday afternoon.

Denton, a senior hailing from Homer, Ga., the honor is another feather in her cap in what was an extremely impressive four-year career at UNG. She has now been twice named an All-American after the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced Denton as a Second Team selection on Wednesday.

In her senior season, Denton made the Peach Belt Conference All-Conference First Team, NFCA Southeast All-Region First Team and D2CCA Southeast All-Region First Team, while also being named the 2024 PBC and D2CCA Southeast Region Pitcher of the Year.

In the regular season, she led the PBC in eight different statistical categories. Nationally, she ranked in the top-25 in five different categories including strikeouts (218), hits allowed per seven innings (3.9), shutouts (12) and wins (29).

After graduating from UNG in early May, Denton has solidified herself as one of the best pitchers in school history with her outstanding senior campaign after helping the Nighthawks to the second National Championship in program history in 2023.
