Nighthawks Selected As Host And No. 2 Seed In 2024 NCAA Southeast Regional Tournament
INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 6 University of North Georgia softball team has earned the second seed and will host the 2024 NCAA Division II Southeast Regional #2 at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park on May 9-11.
UNG will host third-seeded Francis Marion, sixth-seeded Columbus State and seventh-seeded Flagler in the four-team double elimination regional. UNG has previously faced PBC foes Flagler and Columbus State a combined 11 times already this season, going a combined 8-3 in such games.
North Georgia will take on Flagler on Thursday, May 9 at 2:00 p.m., followed by the Francis Marion and Columbus State game at 4:30 p.m.
On the other side of the Southeast Region, top-seeded Wingate will host eighth-seeded Anderson (S.C.), fourth-seeded Lenoir-Rhyne and fifth-seeded Lander.
The winners of the two Southeast regionals will meet at the highest remaining seed on May 14 and 15 for a best-of-three series for a chance to move on to the NCAA DII National Championships May 19-25 in Boombah-Soldiers Creek Park in Longwood, Fla.
