No. 10 UNG Selected As Host, No. 2 Seed In 2025 NCAA Southeast Regional
INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 10 University of North Georgia (UNG) softball team has earned the second seed and will host the 2025 NCAA Division II Southeast Regional #2 at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park on May 8-10 the NCAA office announced Monday morning.
UNG will host third-seeded Lenoir-Rhyne (LR), sixth-seeded Lincoln Memorial (LMU) and seventh-seeded Tusculum in the four-team double elimination regional.
This marks the 12th consecutive season in which the Nighthawks have hosted a portion of the Southeast Regional tournament.
UNG will take on Tusculum Thursday, May 8 at 2 p.m. from Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium to open the tournament. The Bears and Railsplitters will square off on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
The winners of the first two games between UNG-Tusculum and LR-LMU will face each other in the second round of the tournament, as will the losers in the first elimination game.
On the other side of the Southeast Region, top-seeded and No. 3 Francis Marion will host eight-seeded Georgia Southwestern, fourth-seeded Wingate and fifth-seeded Flagler.
The winners of the two Southeast regionals will meet at the highest-remaining seed May 15-16 in a best-of-three Super Regional series with a chance to advance to the NCAA DII National Championships May 22-28 at Frost Stadium at Warner Park in Chattanooga, Tenn., the site of UNG's 2023 National Championship run.
