Five Nighthawks Named WGCA All-American Scholars
DAHLONEGA – The University of North Georgia (UNG) women's golf team had five players honored as Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars per the association's announcement Monday.
Seniors Jadin Ware and Lainey Panter, junior Cora Mount, sophomore Camryn Wright and freshman Ellie Jane Riner were all named to the All-American Scholar Team.
Women's golfers are required to have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season and have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year
nominated through the team's conference championship in order to be named a Scholastic All-American.
After being named a WGCA All-American for the first time in her career a few weeks ago, Ware earned the first Scholastic All-American nod of her career Monday.
Panter became just the third player in UNG women's golf history to become a four-time WGCA All-American Scholar Monday. She joined former teammate Danielle Humphrey who did it from 2021-2024 and Megan Sabol who earned the honor four times from 2018-2021.
Mount earned the first WGCA academic honor of her career with Monday's announcement. The junior transferred to UNG from NAIA member Tennessee Wesleyan last season.
Wright is now a two-time WGCA All-American Scholar after earning the same honor last year as a freshman.
Riner earned the first academic honor of her young career Monday as well.
This year marks the 13th consecutive season in which the Nighthawks have had two or more players earn All-American Scholar honors from the WGCA.
