DAHLONEGA -- University of North Georgia (UNG) women's soccer senior midfielder Darby Olive has been named to the Division II Conference Commisoners Association (D2CCA) All-Southeast Region Second Team the D2CCA announced Tuesday morning.

Olive has posted the best season of her career while helping the Nighthawks to a 12-3-3 record and a spot in the Third Round of the 2024 NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament. She's totaled new career highs with seven goals, six assists and 20 points this season. Olive leads UNG in all three categories. She had previously never had more than 1 goal or 2 assists in a single season.

Olive has been on a tear in the back half of the season, scoring six goals in the final nine games of the season including two game winners, one of which came against No. 9 Lenoir-Rhyne. From the final game of the regular season through the Peach Belt Conferene Tournament, Olive scored a goal in three consecutive games.

In the Nighthawks' two PBC Tournament contests, she recorded a goal and an assist in each. She also added an assist on one of UNG's two goals in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament in a 2-0 win over sixth-seeded Wingate.

In the last 11 games this season, Olive has recorded either a goal, an assist or both in seven of them.

Her all-region acclaim comes on the tail end of what's already been an impressive year in which Olive was named to the 2024 PBC All-Conference and 2024 PBC All-Tournament Teams.

Olive and the Nighthawks will look to make history by advancing to the Elite Eight for the first time in program history on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 3 p.m. when they head to Columbus, Ga. to take on the top-seeded and No. 2 Columbus State Cougars.
