This Week In Nighthawk Athletics: April 15
DAHLONEGA – With a Sunday afternoon match completing the athletic events this week for the University of North Georgia No. 10 men's tennis and No. 3 women's tennis programs, the Nighthawks will celebrate Senior Day at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek against Georgia College. The match is set for Sunday, Apr. 21 at 2 p.m. as the two programs led by head coach Kent Norsworthy will honor their seven combined seniors against the Bobcats.
After winning its 10th consecutive Peach Belt Conference regular season Championship this past weekend, the No. 2 University of North Georgia softball team is not quite done playing in Dahlonega yet.
Despite celebrating senior day on the last home regular season game of the season on Sunday, Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park will still be the site for more UNG softball this weekend as the top-seeded Nighthawks will host the PBC Tournament beginning on Friday, Apr. 26. Matchups and start times for all games will be determined during the week by the conference office.
The Nighthawk men's and women's golf programs are also hosting PBC postseason play this weekend as the PBC Championship is set to begin this weekend. Down in Augusta, Ga. at Forest Hills Golf Club, both teams will host the conference championship beginning on Friday, Apr. 19.
