DAHLONEGA -- University of North Georgia (UNG) baseball sophomore outfielder Kyle Robitzsch has been named the National College Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Southeat Region Player of the Week as announced by the association Tuesday afternoon.

Robitzsch earned the first Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week award of his career on Monday which qualified him for consideration among the region players of the week. He is the first Nighthawk to win a weekly award from the NCBWA Southeat this season and the first to do so since junior pitcher Matthew Heard was named the Pitcher of the Week back in 2023. He is the first player to win the Player of the Week award since Crews Taylor did so in 2021.

Robitzsch dominated at the dish against Lander in a three-game series for the Nighthawks this past weekend.

The Kennesaw, Ga. native combined to go 8-for-11 (.727) in the series with a double, two runs and eight RBI.

The second-year Nighthawk batted in nearly 30 percent of UNG's runs in the series win over the Bearcats. He had two multi-hit games and recorded a hit in every contest.

After going 3-for-4 with two RBI in the opener, he added another hit and another RBI in game two. In the series finale, Robitzsch embodied perfection at the plate as he went a flawless 4-for-4 with one run scored and five RBI.

The five-RBI performance tied a single-game high for the Nighthawks this season while also ranking as the third most in a game among PBC hitters this year.

Robitzsch and the Nighthawks are back in action this week on Wednesday, March 26 in Salisbury, N.C. for a non-conference showdown with No. 4 Catawba. First pitch against the Indians is set for 4 p.m.
