SCHEDULE CHANGE: Spring Sports Adjust Home Weekend Slate
DAHLONEGA – Projected inclement weather in the northeast Georgia region has forced the University of North Georgia (UNG) to make a schedule modification to this weekend's baseball and softball schedules respectively. The action at Lynn Cottrell Park will be moved up in an effort to avoid the inclement weather over the weekend.
This weekend's three-game baseball series against St. Leo has been adjusted to take place only on Friday, Feb. 14 and Saturday, Feb. 15 now, rather than have the two teams complete the series on Sunday as was originally scheduled. Friday's action is set to be a doubleheader between the two teams with game one scheduled for 12 p.m. and game two to follow at 4 p.m. The series then ends on Saturday with a 12 p.m. contest at Bob Stein Stadium.
Over at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium, the No. 3 UNG softball team is ready to host the 2025 Gold City Classic as Emmanuel and Emory & Henry will travel to Dahlonega, Ga. for the event. In the original schedule, the tournament was slated to start on Saturday, Feb. 14 with UNG and Emmanuel facing off in the opening game with two games to follow. Instead, the first day of the event has been moved to Friday, Feb. 14. The schedule for that day is as follows:
Emory & Henry vs. Emmanuel - 1 p.m.
No. 3 UNG vs. Emmmanuel - 3 p.m.
No. 3 UNG vs. Emory & Henry - 5 p.m.
The Gold City Classic will then conclude with three more games on Saturday with UNG's games scheduled to take place at 12 and 4 p.m. Fans can visit the Gold City Classic event website for the latest information, news and updates.
