DAHLONEGA – The No. 24 University of North Georgia (UNG) men's tennis team fell in a 5-2 match against No. 1 West Florida (UWF) at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek on Tuesday.

The Nighthawks started the match on a high note after taking the double point from the top-ranked Argonauts.

First, freshman Franco Rebora and sophomore Marcos Castellanor teamed up for a 6-3 victory in #3 doubles.

Then, junior Pedro Liborio and freshman Janos Varga won the #2 doubles match 6-4 to seal the doubles victory.

In singles, UWF quickly earned two wins with victories in the #4 and #5 singles matches.

Senior Robin Eldin tied the match at 2-2 with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 comeback victory over ITA men's singles No. 10 Sebastian Rondon in #2 singles.

No. 35 Sebastian Sotelo pulled they Argonauts within one point of victory after a 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 win over Rebora in #3 singles.

Liborio won the first set 6-2 but Cabrera barely edged him out in the second set 4-6. Cabrera then took the final set 6-2 to secure the victory for UWF.
