Reaves Named PBC Softball Player of the Week
DAHLONEGA -- No. 8 University of North Georgia (UNG) softball junior outfielder Sydnee Reaves has been announced as the Peach Belt Conference Softball Player of the Week per the league office in a release Monday afternoon.
Reaves shined in her Nighthawk debut at the Gulf Shores Invitational last weekend.
The Montevallo transfer went 8-for-17 (.471) at the plate with two doubles, a home run, four RBI, four runs scored and 13 total bases. She led UNG in all aforementioned categories other than batting average on the weekend.
Reaves began her UNG career with a bang, hitting a solo home run in her first at bat in a Nighthawk uniform. She also scored the winning run in Saturday's 4-3 walk off win over Florida Tech after scoring on a sacrifice fly.
Reaves and the Nighthawks return to Dahlonega, Ga. this weekend for their home opener in the 2025 Mizuno Invitational. UNG will host Lake Erie and West Florida for a total of six games at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park beginning on Saturday, Feb. 8. Each team will participate in a doubleheader against the other participants on both Saturday and Sunday. The action begins with UNG and Lake Erie squaring up at 12 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8.
