PBC Announces 2025 Women's Basketball Tournament Bracket, No. 8 UNG Earns Top Seed

DAHLONEGA – The Peach Belt Conference announced the 2025 PBC Women's Basketball Tournament bracket Sunday afternoon.

Play begins on Wednesday, Mar. 5, with four quarterfinal games hosted on campus by the higher seed. The four winners from Wednesday will advance to the semifinals and finals held on Mar. 8 and 9, hosted by the highest remaining seed.

The No. 8 University of North Georgia (UNG) women's basketball team has earned the top seed in the conference tournament after going 26-2 overall and 16-2 in conference play en route to the program's fifth PBC Regular-Season Championship. This season marks UNG's third instance as the top seed in the tournament in the last five years.

The Nighthawks will host eighth-seeded Clayton State (10-18, 7-11 Peach Belt) in the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament on Wednesday, Mar. 5 at 5 p.m. at Lynn Cottrell Arena at the UNG Convocation Center.

The winner of Wednesday's quarterfinal matchup will advance to play the winner between fifth-seeded Flagler (13-14, 9-9 Peach Belt) and fourth-seeded Georgia College (16-12, 9-9 Peach Belt)

With a win, UNG would remain as the top seed in the tournament and reserve hosting rights for the semifinal and championship rounds. 

The Nighthawks went 2-0 against the Lakers in the regular season with an average margin of victory of 22 points. UNG recently took down Clayton State 92-67 on Saturday, Mar. 1 in the final game of the regular season. 

The Nighthawks are seeking their fifth PBC Tournament title in program history and the third in the last five years.
