Nighthawks Finish Day One At PBC Championship

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The University of North Georgia women's track & field team finished competition on day one of the Peach Belt Conference Championship in Daytona Beach, Fla. Monday.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The University of North Georgia women's track & field team finished competition on day one of the Peach Belt Conference Championship in Daytona Beach, Fla. Monday. 

UNG had four runners finish the women's 1500-meter race, while senior Kaylee Downing ran in the women's 400-meter prelims. She finished 11th with a 1:01.91 time in the preliminary portion of the competition. 

In the 1500-meter, freshmen Grace Opsahl and Adi Myers finished 24th and 14th respectively. 

Senior Claire Mills landed in seventh place after a 4:45.27 time, while junior Ella Stoudenmire finished one spot shy of the podium in fourth place after running a time of 4:39.56. 

The Nighthawks will have eight runners compete in five different events on Tuesday, Apr. 30 including the women's 4 x 100-meter and 4 x 400-meter races. 

The first UNG runners will participate in the women's 5000-meter competition at 8 a.m. while the a quartet of Nighthawks will run in the meet's final event, the women's 4 x 400, at 3:35 p.m.
