White Named Chick-fil-A Nighthawk of the Week
DAHLONEGA -- No. 12 University of North Georgia (UNG) men's basketball junior guard AJ White has been named as the Chick-fil-A Nighthawk of the Week after a huge scoring outburst in the Nighthawks' lone game last week.
White had a big day in the Nighthawks' key road win at Francis Marion on Tuesday. He posted a season-high 31 points while going 10-for-20 from the floor, 3-for-6 from deep and 8-for-8 at the free throw line.
White's 31 points were one shy of his career high and marked his seventh double figure scoring game in eight contests this year. He added three assists and three rebounds in UNG's 94-87 victory.
White currently ranks in the top 50 among NCAA Division II players in field goal attempts, field goals made, free throw attempts, free throws made, free throw percentage and points scored. He and the Nighthawks are back in action on Saturday, Dec. 7 as the crew opens Peach Belt Conference play on the road at Clayton State. Tip off from Morrow, Ga. is set for 8 p.m.
