Knowles Named PBC Player of the Week
DAHLONEGA -- No. 8 University of North Georgia (UNG) softball freshman catcher Carleigh Knowles continues to make history as she earned her third Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week honor Monday afternoon.
Knowles is now the first player in Peach Belt Conference history to win the Player of the Week award three times and the Freshman of the Week award twice all in one season. She also leads all of NCAA Division-II in home runs while also ranking second in total bases, third in slugging percentage, and fourth in RBIs.
Knowles and the Nighthawks will take the diamond again this weekend in a three-game road series at Augusta. First pitch in g ame one of Friday's doubleheader is slated for 1 p.m.
