Sutherlin Named Chick-fil-A Nighthawk of the Week
DAHLONEGA -- No. 19 University of North Georgia (UNG) rifle freshman Alison Sutherlin has been named as the Chick-fil-A Nighthawk of the Week after a stellar shooting performance over the weekend.
Sutherlin helped the No. 19 Nighthawks to their first ranked win of the season over No. 20 The Citadel on Saturday.
The newcomer totaled 1,170 aggregate points to lead the way for the Nighthawks and help them to a 4,657-4,563 win over the Bulldogs.
She hit the second-most centers (70) of any shooter and set a new personal record in Smallbore with 582 points. This is Sutherlin's third time this season finishing as the top shooter for UNG.
The Nighthawk of the Week title sponsor is Chick-fil-A of Dahlonega, with each week's winner being treated to a complimentary combo meal at the Dahlonega restaurant. Located at 488 Morrison Moore Parkway East, Chick-fil-A loves to give back to the local area and is proud to be a community partner with UNG Athletics.
Beginning in the fall of 2014, the UNG athletic department began honoring one student-athlete each Monday morning as the Nighthawk of the Week. The award is chosen each Sunday evening by an award selection committee made up of members of the UNG athletics administrative staff.
