UNG earned the top seed after going 29-2 and winning the program's fifth Peach Belt Conference Regular-Season and Tournament Championships this season.

This is the third time the North Georgia women's basketball program has earned the top seed and will host the Southeast Regional in the NCAA Tournament.

UNG will face 8th-seed UNC Pembroke in its first matchup of the tournament. The Nighthawks have won seven of the last eight matchups against the Braves with the most recent victory coming in 2021.

Under head coach Buffie Burson, UNG has made seven NCAA Tournament appearances and advanced to the NCAA D-II Championship twice. The last time the Nighthawks won the Southeast Regional was in 2022 as they made a run to the NCAA National Semifinal to mark the best NCAA postseason finish in program history.
