DAHLONEGA -- No. 16 University of North Georgia (UNG) women's golf sophomore Abby Franks has been named as the Peach Belt Conference Women's Golfer of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Franks had a stellar performance in Carmel, Calif. at The Patriot Invitational last week. The Roebuck, S.C. native finished in a tie for sixth place after posting three rounds of 71, 78 and 72 at the par-71 Quail Lodge Golf Club.

The sixth-place finish tied Franks' best performance of the year and marked her third top-10 outing of the season, all of which have come in the last five events. She has now finished 16th or better in six of the last seven tournaments.

This is the first Player of the Week honor in Franks' career and the first weekly honor of any Nighthawk golfer this season. The Roebuck, S.C. native currently ranks sixth in the PBC in stroke average this season.

Franks and UNG are currently preparing to host the 3rd Annual UNG Bracket Challenge on Apr. 7-8 in Homer, Ga. at Chimney Oaks Golf Club.
