No. 3 Nighthawks Earn Top Seed, Will Host 2024 NCAA Southeast Regional #1
INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 3 University of North Georgia women's tennis team has earned the top seed and will host the 2024 NCAA Southeast Regional Tournament #1 at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek.
After a historic season in which the Nighthawks went 22-1 while breaking a flurry of program records, UNG returns to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth straight year and seventh season overall.
As the top seed and host of the regional, the Nighthawks earn a bye in the first round. UNG will face the winner of fourth-seeded Columbus State and fifth-seeded Erskine in the preliminary rounds. The Cougars and Fleet square off in the first round of the tournament on Friday, May 10 at 1 p.m.
The Nighthawks' first match in the tournament takes place Saturday, May 11 at 11 a.m. from the UNG Tennis Complex.
With the bye, UNG needs one win ito advance to the 2024 NCAA Women's Tennis Championship at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Fla.
