- Herbarium project continues its progress(1:14) More than two years ago, Dr. Tom Diggs dreamed of creating a small-scale herbarium on UNG's Gainesville Campus. A herbarium is a core collection of dried plant specimens mounted, labeled, and organized. All of that information is then uploaded to a database. Now, UNG's herbarium has reached its halfway point after the project was launched two years ago. - Scholarship recipients account for bulk of spring FROGs(0:48) Forty-eight freshmen took part in UNG's FROG Week in January 2021 as they transitioned from civilians to cadets. More than a third of UNG's roughly 700-member corps serves in the National Guard, and the university commissions about 40 officers into the Georgia Army National Guard annually. The UNG Military scholarship pays for room, meals, tuition, books, uniforms, and fees. In addition, recipients earn National Guard weekend drill pay, GI Bill, and pay for attending Army basic and advanced training. #UNGleads

- UNG Fall 2020 Commencement(1:04) Nearly 600 UNG students walked across the stage of the Convocation Center as part of the fall 2020 commencement experience on Dec. 5-6. UNG implemented new mini-ceremonies, totaling 52, to follow social distancing guidelines and prevent the spread of COVID-19. Smaller commissioning ceremonies for 26 UNG cadets took place on Dec. 3-4 at the Pennington Military Leadership Center.
- Carol the Corpse Flower - Facebook Live Q&A(1:20:01) Have you ever seen a 6-foot-tall flower that takes eight to 10 years to bloom? The corpse flower called Carol bloomed May 8. Carol is the first corpse flower to bloom in Georgia in more than 20 years. She and other titan arums are listed as "endangered." The few plants in the United States are cultivated and grown in botanic gardens and at colleges and universities.

- Proper way to wash your hands(0:32) Follow these recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for washing your hands. The main recommendation is to wash your hands for at least 20 seconds. Do your part to help slow the spread of COVID-19 by washing your hands, wearing masks and practicing social distancing.
- Tri-Alpha induction ceremony(0:37) The University of North Georgia chartered a new chapter of Alpha Alpha Alpha, a national honor society for first-generation college students, in February on the Gainesville Campus. UNG is the first school in Georgia to establish the Tri-Alpha honor society.
