North Georgia Baseball Releases 2025 Schedule
DAHLONEGA – The University of North Georgia (UNG) baseball team has released its schedule for the 2025 season.
The Nighthawks enter year 26 under head coach Tom Cantrell after going 32-19 last season marking the program's 10th consecutive winning season.
The 2025 season begins with the home opener on Friday, Jan. 31 against Lincoln Memorial as UNG hosts the Railsplitters for a three-game set.
In early February, the Nighthawks will head on the road to Salisbury, N.C. for a two game series against Catawba in a marquee regional matchup early in the season. The Indians ended the 2024 season at 46-17 and as the No. 3 ranked team in the country in the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) coaches poll.
UNG will also host the 2024 Peach Belt Conference Tournament Champions Georgia College (GCSU) for a three-game, non-conference series before the PBC season gets underway.
The Nighthawks open conference play on the road at Columbus State for three games beginning on Feb. 28.
On Mar. 4, UNG will play the first of two road games at West Florida. However, the opening game of that series will be played at Admiral Fetterman Field, home of the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, the minor league Double-A Affiliate of the Miami Marlins.
The first home PBC series of the season for the Nighthawks begins on Mar. 7 as the program welcomes the Cougars of Claflin to Dahlonega for three games.
On Mar. 12, UNG will face its rival from the other side of Blood Mountain in Young Harris in a standalone non-conference competition. The Mountain Lions finished last season as the No. 26 team nationally in the ABCA poll.
The Nighthawks will host Lander for a PBC series from Mar. 21 to Mar. 23. The team then goes 19 days without a home conference game before hosting Flagler on Apr. 11. Starting with the Flagler series, the Nighthawks will play eight home games in 11 days against the Saints, Emmanuel, USC Aiken and 2024 ABCA No. 8 North Greenville.
The season then ends on the road in Milledgeville, Ga. against GCSU. The series against the Bobcats begins on Apr. 25 and concludes on Apr. 27.
