Stinson Named PBC Baseball Freshman of the Week
DAHLONEGA -- No. 16 University of North Georgia (UNG) baseball redshirt freshman Nicholas Stinson has been named as the Peach Belt Conference Baseball Freshman of the Week for a fourth time this season.
Stinson had a hit in all four games for UNG baseball last week.
He went 6-for-19 with a pair of multi-hit games to close out the series against USC Aiken. He also totaled four runs scored, two doubles and three RBIs.
Stinson scored three times in the Nighthawks' 7-6, extra-inning thriller in the series finale against the Pacers which included the game-winning run after a lead-off base hit in the 11th. He currently ranks second in the league with 17 doubles this year.
He becomes the first Nighthawk in program history to win the award four times in a single season. He's also the first rookie in the PBC to win the award four or more times in the same year since Georgia College's Cam Hill won it six times in 2019.
Stinson and UNG are back in action this week with a major showdown against No. 8 North Greenville on Tuesday, April 22 at 5 p.m. for the final home regular-season game of the season.
