Three Nighthawks Named to 2025 PBC All-Conference Team
DAHLONEGA – The No. 16 University of North Georgia (UNG) women's golf team had three players named to the 2025 Peach Belt Conference All-Conference team the league office announced Thursday morning.
Senior Jadin Ware, sophomore Abby Franks and freshman Ellie Jane Riner all earned spots on the PBC All-Conference Second Team Monday.
Riner was also named the 2025 Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Year. The Havana, Fla. native dominated on the links as she averaged 75.15 strokes per round this season to rank third on the team behind Ware and Franks. That mark also was the best among all freshmen within the conference and was more than four strokes better than the next closest rookie competitor.
Riner joins Maddie Ananthasane as the only Nighthawks in program history to be named the league's Freshman of the Year.
For Franks, she ranked second on the team with a stroke average of 74.7 this year. The Roebuck, S.C. native had three top 10 finishes on the season which included a pair of sixth place marks at the Low Tide Intercollegiate and The Patriot Invitational.
Her season-low best round came on the first day of the 11th Annual LeeAnn Noble Memorial as she carded a 3-under par 69 to help UNG finish in second place in its annual fall event.
Ware has been the anchor for the Nighthawks this season. The senior currently leads UNG in stroke average on the season at 74.56 strokes per outing. She tied Franks for the team lead with three top-10 finishes.
Ware was also one of three Nighthawks to finish in the top 5 of an event this year when she came in third place at the Low Tide Intercollegiate with a 1-over par score of 217.
This marks the third consecutive season UNG has had multiple players named to the all-conference team.
Riner, Franks, Ware and the rest of the Nighthawks are now set to host the 2025 Peach Belt Conference Championship. The 54-hole event begins at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. on Friday, April 18. The three-day event ends on Sunday, April 20 as UNG looks to win the PBC Championship for the first time in program history.
