DAHLONEGA – The No. 3 University of North Georgia women's tennis team had five different players earn all-conference selections as announced by the Peach Belt Conference Thursday evening. 

Junior Angelina Linnikova headlined the selections as she was named to the PBC All-Conference First Team for Singles. The Irkutsk, Russia native has been one of the best singles players in the nation this year. Holding a 19-2 record, Linnikova already reached historic status in UNG lore as she currently sits with the third most singles wins in a season in program history. Her .905 winning percentage will certainly change as the Nighthawks participate in postseason play, but it currently ranks as the best women's singles season in school history as well. 

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) currently ranks Linnikova as the No. 8 women's singles player in the country. Twice this season Linnikova has been ranked as high as seventh, the highest women's singles national ranking in program history. 

Joining Linnikova with singles honors were three of her teammates in seniors Viktorie Wojcikova and Johanna Lippert along with junior Ashley Moinard. 

The trio were named to the PBC All-Conference Second Team for Singles. All three of them collected 15 or more wins in singles play this season, led by Moinard who went 18-2 and ended the regular season on a nine-match win streak. Moinard's 18-2 season also puts her in the UNG record books as it is tied for the fourth most singles wins in a season in program history and is tied for second best singles winning percentage in a season. 

Lippert went 15-5 by her lonesome this season which includes a 9-2 record in the #2 singles spot. She also went 4-2 against opponents from ranked teams this year, helping the Nighthawks gather a 5-1 record as a team against nationally ranked opposition. 

Wojcikova holds a 15-3 mark in singles actions so far to help her earn the second team selection, marking the second time in her career being named to the all-conference team.

Wojcikova also added another conference honor for doubles. Her and Lippert were named to the PBC All-Conference First Team for Doubles this season, after dominating the competition. The tag team went 15-5 in doubles in the regular season, including a 5-1 mark in conference and a 2-1 record against ranked opponents. 

The highlight of the year came when Lippert and Wojcikova combined for a 6-3 against the ITA No. 5 doubles pairing from Flagler, helping the Nighthawks secure the doubles point and match against the No. 9 Saints. The Nighthawk combination is currently ranked No. 41 by ITA for women's doubles nationally. 

Linnikova and senior teammate Svetlana Teterina also heard doubles acclaim from the conference Thursday. The pair was named to the PBC All-Second Team for Doubles after going 15-3 this season for UNG. 13 of those wins came in the #2 doubles spot, often securing the doubles points for head coach Kent Norsworthy's team. Linnikova and Teterina did not suffer a single loss to a PBC opponent this year, going 3-0 and helping the Nighthawks collect a 5-1 overall record against the conference. 

All five Nighthawks will look to keep up the dominance against the PBC this weekend as they head to Columbus, Ga. and host school No. 10 Columbus State for the PBC Women's Tennis Tournament. 

After earning the top seed by virtue of a tie break, UNG gets a bye in the first round and will not compete until 10 a.m. Saturday, Apr. 27. The Nighthawks will face the winner of fourth-seeded Georgia College and fifth-seeded Augusta, both of whom UNG took down in the regular season.
